FAQ

1) Was the movie Under Siege based on Raid on Truman?
Answer:
A fair number of people have asked me that question. All I can say is that I never made any movie deal on that novel. If Hollywood used Raid as a basis then they're not talking.

2) When you're writing a novel, do you know how the story is going to end?
Answer:
Yes. I outline a forthcoming novel in a rough way then proceed to a detailed chapter outline. This is the only way I can get through creating a large manuscript. I recently read that none other than Stephen King, the Bestsellasaurus Rex of the horror realm does not know how his stories end. I have to admire the organized creativity of his mind, but I have to write some stuff down initially. The outline inevitably changes, sometimes radically as the story proceeds.

3) Where do you get your ideas for novels?
Answer:
Most of the time a story begins with the mind's view of a single scene or an idea. For example, COBRA DANE began with the premise, suppose someone was on an island and woke up one day to find everyone was dead. Then the questions start. Why is he on the island? Why is everyone dead? and it goes on and on from there until the story is done.

4) Who made this ingenious website?
Answer:
Stephen, my brilliant, good looking, wonderful son.
